Cluster Management Board are asking colleagues to attend a special Cluster meeting to discuss the implications of the White Paper and to consider how schools could work together.
An Invitation
“The Importance of Teaching”, the schools white paper and the potential impact on the way we work in the Cluster.
Key questions will be discussed:

Dave Eaglestone and Heather Atkinson will jointly deliver a half day session on the development of a whole school reading approach. This will include an opportunity to look at how Accelerated Reading (AR) works in primary schools as well as how our secondary schools have used AR combined with Reading Champions/Buddy Reading to great effect. Renaisance Learning will be presnt to give an online demonstration of how AR works and what data is available to a class teacher.
This session is aimed at Headteachers.
Date: 25th November; 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 at Longton CLC
Dave Eaglestone will deliver a half day training event on Buddy reading.
Aimed at TAs/classroom assistants and parent volunteers this training will allow you set up your own inter school or year Buddy Reading project.
Date: 17th November, Longton CLC. 2.00p.m. to 3.30

Ian Wilson, on behalf of HTI will deliver another successful Middle Leaders programme for Cluster 3. Following evaluations of last years programme we will be offering the following modules:
Each session happens monthly allowing time between sessions for reflection.
Who is the course designed for: The course is aimed at middle leaders in both primary and secondary schools and is designed around the Glaser model of learning and will take into account all learning styles:

Five colleagues from Michelin are supported our Big Up Your Future project as Number partners to the pupils of Florence, Normacot and Dresden.

Cluster 3′s latest DVD is about to be circulated to schools. This new DVD features top tips on early writing, shared reading and phonics.
Literacy facilitators will meet on 21st October to plan for the use of the DVD. The DVD will be shown on 6th October at the Enjoy and Achieve meeting.
Andrea and Sue from Gladstone are running a repeat session of Better Words training session on 18th Nov 09.00 until 12.00. This follows on from the very successful training earlier in the year.
Participants will receive a complete resource pack to take back to school. These resources will be provided by ROWA!
Booking forms will be sent out from Kay by mid October.
